Fire Bananas Foster – Literally

This recipe is surely one that will feed your soul. With rich notes of caramelized sugar & cinnamon and the rich flavor of bananas, this one is sure to be a hit!

Flámbe is a cooking method where alcohol is added to a pan and burned to create a flame.

Ingredients

2 Medium bananas

2 Tablespoons of butter

¼ Cup brown sugar

1 Teaspoon MealZac Candied Yams blend

1 Teaspoon MealZac Vanilla Extract

1 1/2 Tablespoons of Rum (optional)

Instructions/Guidance

  1. Peel the bananas and cut them into roughly ¼ inch thick slices or into medium-sized pieces.

  2. In a medium skillet, over medium-low heat, add the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla and melt down, about 1 minute.

  3. Add bananas and Candied Yam blend and cook for about 30 seconds per side

  4. Add Rum, ensuring that none has spilled on the stove. Safely light the alcohol with a stick lighter or a long burning match, to burn off the alcohol. Flip bananas and keep cooking for another 2 minutes on medium-low heat. Allow to cool, vibe out, and ENJOY!
